Palmerston North City Council is upgrading an existing bus stop on State Highway 3 (SH3) Main Street, Palmerston North (outside the ACC office), including installing a bus shelter.

To help buses safely enter and exit the upgraded stop without blocking the live traffic lane on SH3 Main Street, NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is proposing to extend the existing no stopping lines by 7 metres (from 8 metres to 15 metres). This would remove 1 on-street parking space.

Information about Palmerston North City Council’s programme to upgrade bus shelters and stops around the city is available on their website: https://www.pncc.govt.nz/Have-your-say/Closed-consultations/New-bus-stops-and-shelters-in-Palmy
